There’s nothing better than an old-fashioned American success story. Enter Gracia C. Martore, the current President and Chief Executive Officer of Gannett Co., a publicly traded media holding company. The largest U.S. newspaper publisher, its publications include USA Today, The Arizona Republic, and the Detroit Free Press, as well as more than 40 television stations and a handful of digital media companies.

Martore has been with the Gannett Company for almost 30 years, joining Gannett in 1985 as Assistant Treasurer. Martore became a Vice President in the Treasury group in 1993, and worked her way up to CEO in 2011. She was twice interim Chief Executive while her predecessor, Craig Dubow, took extended medical leaves.
