Abigail Johnson is President of Fidelity Investments

One of the most powerful women in finance, Abigail Johnson (Abby to her friends) was named president of Fidelity Investments by her father, Ned Johnson, last year.  While many could claim nepotism by the billionaire family, many Fidelity employees report that Johnson is liked within the organization and has a reputation for intelligence, seriousness and community service.

Her rise to the number two position began in 1988, when she joined the firm not long after completing her MBA from Harvard University.  There was always competition around her, and it was not clear that she would succeed her father until the announcement was made.
