A recent press release from First Data announced that Heidi Miller would be joining the company’s Board of Directors beginning this April. According to BWW Geeks World, “First Data Chariman and CEO Frank Bisignano announced that Heidi G. Miller has joined the First Data Board of Directors, effective April 14th, 2014.” The article also notes that Miller is “a well-accomplished senior executive in the financial services industry,” and that her addition to the company brings the number of board members up to seven.
First Data is a company whose vision is to shape the future of global commerce by developing and continually delivering the world’s most secure and innovative payment solutions. Miller is an excellent addition to its Board of Directors; her industry know-how and experience as former president of JP Morgan International and CEO of JP Morgan Chase’s Treasury and Security Services have equipped her with the proficiency needed to be a part of a world-renowned company like First Data.
Miller has also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Bank One Corporation, and has held other similar positions at Citigroup and the Travelers Group. Her high-level positions at such esteemed financial companies earned her the honor of being recognized as one of American Banker’s “Most Powerful Women” ranking from 2003-2010. In 2008 Miller found herself at the top of Crain’s list of the “50 Most Powerful Women in New York,” and she continues to be a formidable presence in a traditionally male-driven industry.
Her new First Data colleagues and fellow board members are happy to welcome her aboard. Explains Henry Kravis, First Data director and cofounder of KKR, “With her long list of accomplishments and keen insight into the effective management of global companies, we are extremely honored to have Heidi Miller join the board,” of Miller’s new position on the company’s board.
Bisignano concurs, and publicly welcomes her to the company in the press release explaining, “She brings with her incredible knowledge and experience in the global financial services industry, and her deep expertise and cultural awareness will be of great value to First Data as we transform the company and drive growth in our business around the world.”
