Last week, Oracle CEO Larry Ellison showed off Oracle’s newest product, complete with In-Memory Database Technology, which will be able to move data quickly between disk, flash, and dynamic random access memory (DRAM). According to Ellison, In-Memory will be up to 100 times faster than Oracle’s 12c database system offering.

Ellison and Oracle co-presidents Safra Catz and Mark Hurd are counting on In-Memory to offer faster data processing, real-time analytics, and ease of access for companies with big data needs. If In-Memory is a success, it will go a long way in combating Oracle’s currently slowing growth.
