Todd Builione is an expert in capital markets who specializes in mergers and acquisitions. Not only is he the president of FS Investment Corporation and Corporate Capital Trust, Inc., but he also fulfills several key roles at leading global investment firm KKR & Co. Inc.

In July 2018, FS/KKR Advisor, LLC—a partnership between FS Investments and KKR Credit Advisors (US) LLC (FS/KKR)—announced that FS Investment Corporation would be merging with Corporate Capital Trust, Inc. It was one of the biggest business transactions that Mr. Builione oversaw, and remains a major highlight of his career.

“We are pleased with the progress we’ve made since announcing the partnership between FS Investments and KKR,” said Builione. “Completing the merger with FSIC, closing the $3.4 billion revolving credit facility, of which CCT will be allocated $1.45 billion, and maintaining our strong origination pipeline will position us well to deliver consistent long-term performance and drive value for our investors.”

But his accomplishments go back further than that. In the past, Mr. Builione served as President of Highbridge Capital Management—a prestigious position he maintained for nine years. He was also CEO of Highbridge’s Hedge Fund business and a member of the firm’s Investment and Risk Committees.

In total, Mr. Builione has been the head of six different companies. Like many other finance magnates, he began his career at Goldman Sachs.

He also boasts an impressive academic background, having earned his B.S. (summa cum laude) from Cornell University and his J.D. (cum laude) from Harvard Law School. He currently sits on the Advisory Council at Cornell University’s Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, and is on the Board of Directors at the Pingry School.
