One of the tech industry’s most powerful people, Padmasree Warrior, is the CTO if Cisco Systems. Cisco is a $46 billion networking equipment company and considered a leader in Silicon Valley.
Echoing the very vocal advocate for women in technology, Sheryl Sandberg, Warrior says that women too easily give up their power. She says that there is a balance between most women’s natural tendency to deflect credit when they receive a compliment, and retaining authority as a manager. While it is difficult sometimes to be a woman in her field, she said it is also a great way to get noticed because people will remember what you say and what you do.
