More than ever before, women like Sandberg are breaking into the business world--and with stunning success.

Sheryl Sandberg is one of today’s most successful businesswomen.

One promise we’re planning on upholding here at Business Bigwigs is to profile just as many women as men in the business world. Women only represent about 4% of CEOs in Fortune 500 companies, yet they are gaining visibility and presence in the business world. Women may not necessarily all be CEOs, but they are around and they are becoming more influential as time passes.

Two of our first four profiles this week were women, so be sure to check out their profiles to read about how they are leaving their mark on the business world.

We wrote about Sheryl Sandberg, who is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Facebook. She works alongside Mark Zuckerberg at the social media giant and handles what she calls the “business” side of things. She was recently elected as the first female member of Facebook’s board. Sandberg has also worked for Google, and is working hard to inspire other girls to take on the business world.

Our other female profile this week was Indra Nooyi, who is the Chairman and CEO of PepsiCo, a giant in the snack food and beverage industry. Nooyi grew up in India and later moved to the United States, where she attended Yale. She’s the embodiment of a strong, confident, and fair person—all vital ingredients for a good CEO.

What other women or men would you like to see profiled at Business Bigwigs? There are many inspiring and successful business leaders out there, but we want to know which ones you’d like to see featured here. Leave a comment below letting us know where you’d like Business Bigwigs to take you next!
