Oprah is a great example of a “rags to riches” story. She came from a troubled family and is now one of the most successful women in entertainment. She worked her way through college, and while only a sophomore in college; she was offered a job as a co-news anchor at Nashville’s CBS affiliate, WTVF-TV. She became Nashville’s first female co-anchor, as well as the first black co-anchor.
Oprah’s formula for success is, “Follow your instincts,” she says in a Ladies Home Journal magazine article. “That’s where true wisdom manifests itself.”
