On October 10, the winners of this year’s Professional Planner Zenith Fund Awards were announced at the annual luncheon at the Ivy Ballroom in Sydney. The event was attended by more than 300 leading industry participants and VIP guests and included a variety of award recipients, including AMP Capital, Macquarie, and Lazard.

Lazard CEO Kenneth Jacobs has helped make the asset management firm one of the most esteemed in its field.
The awards, based on research conducted by Zenith Investment Partners, honor the capabilities and achievements of fund management businesses based on organizational strength, investment philosophy, teamwork, security selection and valuation, portfolio construction, and performance. Zenith director David Wright says the awards exist to recognize excellence in the field.
AMP Capital, an asset management and infrastructure investment firm, won the prestigious Fund Manager of the Year award, with its Perpetual Investments and Platinum Asset Management named as finalists in the same category. AMP Capital is one of the world’s leading investment houses, with an expansive international reach.
Macquarie, which distributes to the fund management capabilities of Arrowstreet, Independent Franchise Partners, Walter Scott & Partners, and Winton Capital Management, was honored with the Distributor of the Year award at the event.
Lazard’s Global Listed Infrastructure Fund won the Best Infrastructure Fund award for its work with securities offering higher revenue certainty and lower volatility. “The team’s hard work has generated a lot of interest amongst a cross section of investors since it was launched nine years ago,” said Susan Roberts, CEO of Lazard Asset Management Pacific Co. “We believe the inclusion of listed infrastructure in an investor’s international equities exposure provides significant diversification benefits, with the potential to improve the risk/return profile of the overall portfolio.”
Full coverage of the awards, including interviews, will appear in the November edition of Professional Planner Magazine, while images from the Ivy Ballroom event will be shared online next week.
