“I always try to find the truth in a situation. That unvarnished, pure nugget of truth at the core of every issue that I write about. Sometimes this takes more than one post, and sometimes I have to go back and correct things I’ve gotten wrong. I’ll continue to do that.” ~Michael Arrington

Michael Arrington is a serial entrepreneur and the founder of TechCrunch. Similar to Mashable, TechCrunch is a popular tech website that covers the Silicon Valley technology start-up community, as well as all other technology news.

Arrington graduated from Claremont McKenna College with a BA in Economics, and Stanford Law School with JD. In 1999 he left Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati to join RealNames as VP of Business Development and General Counsel. In 2000, he cofounded Achex, which is an online payments company acquired by First Data Corp for $32 million.

Arrington officially founded TechCrunch in 2005. The company has gone on to create other successful websites and events. TechCrunch operates Crunchbase, which is a database that allows users to create profiles of companies and people.

TechCrunch also operates “TechCrunch Disrupt,” an annual conference in San Francisico, New York City, and Beijing that began in 2011. There, many technology startups launch their products and services on stage among many others. Well-known people in tech have spoken at TechCrunch Disrupt over the years, including Mark Zuckerberg, Marc Benioff, and Marissa Mayer.

In 2008, Arrington was selected by Time magazine as one of the most influential people in the world. He has also been named by Wired and Forbes as one of the most powerful people on the Internet.
