Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of reddit.com, entrepreneur, activist, volunteer, and author, just wants to make the world a better place. Or, in his words, he’s “making the world suck less.”

Eight years after the founding of the insanely popular social voting website, reddit.com, Alexis Ohanian has released his first book, Without Their Permission: How the 21st Century Will Be Made not Managed, and is in the midst of a five-month-long book tour. There are 150 stops along the way, and Ohanian is giving talks at each, providing inspiration to startups everywhere.

Reddit Logo“I want to just help these startups be great,” he said. “A conversation with a successful founder isn’t necessarily going to change your life, it isn’t necessarily going to give you the light bulb that makes your company 10X or whatever it is, but hopefully it’s helpful.” He says his book focuses on how today’s digital world is helping people feel empowered and “awesome.”

Ohanian founded reddit.com in 2005 with classmate Steve Huffman, and both have since gone on to be successful entrepreneurs. Check out our profile on Alexis Ohanian to learn more about reddit’s early days and what Ohanian’s been up to since.
